RUTH TILY

Ruth qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and since that time has specialised in criminal defence.

KATY WELCH

Katy has been practising since 2007 (having originally trained as a Barrister) and has experience in dealing with a wide range of offences.

HANNAH COSBIE
Accredited Police Station Representative and Crown Court caseworker
Hannah joined Sansbury Douglas in 2020 after relocating to Bristol having worked at a large criminal firm in Gwent for over 2 years.
She qualified as an Police Station Accredited Representative in early 2019 and has worked on a wide spectrum of matters at police stations in South Wales and more recently Bristol.
She has experience in dealing with Crown Court cases and her role at Sansbury Douglas is primarily assisting the Crown Court department.
Whilst being heavily involved in trial preparation and sentencing hearings in the Crown Court, Hannah still provides legal advice at police stations in and out of hours assisting own and duty clients.

TIM CECIL-POWELL
Accredited Police Station Representative and Crown Court caseworker
Tim joined Sansbury Douglas in 2018 and shortly thereafter qualified as a Police Station Representative.
Having a keen interest in police station work Tim worked as an Appropriate Adult in 2012. He then went on to study Law at the University of Gloucestershire and attained a 2:1 law degree in 2015.
Having had previous experience working closely with vulnerable adults, Tim has the skills and the approachable nature to communicate with clients in a sensitive manner and ensure they are being fully listened to and supported throughout their case.
In his work as a Crown Court caseworker Tim deals with a wide range of serious offences. He meets clients early on in a case and obtains statements, instructs barristers, attends court and reviews evidence.
